August 13 through Labor Day Weekend
(For a list of varieties available, visit our Rose Sale Page
The retail plant season is finished for the year and, as usual, we have a nice but limited selection of fresh roses still available, growing like crazy in 3 gallon pots. These include vintage Brownell climbers, as well as modern floribundas, shrub roses and easy-care Easy Elegance varieties. For photos and descriptions of Brownell roses, check out the Brownell Page at http://www.rosesolutions.net/.
Most of the vintage roses are the result of my own propagation program. I’ve been bud grafting roses every August for the last 19 years. It’s a part of rose horticulture that I especially enjoy. I plan to post details and photos on bud grafting as a blog entry soon.
If anyone has an interest in this fascinating form of rose reproduction, let me know. I do it mostly on the weekends and I’m willing to conduct a 90-minute workshop if there is some interest. The workshop is free and everyone goes home with one or more budded roses — all I ask is $5 each for the rootstock. (Contact email@example.com for more details.)
The sale starts Saturday, August 13 and goes through Labor Day weekend. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to make arrangements.
